A small keepsake can hold a bigger story. This is the journey we’re building—from a necklace to a hopeful home.

The plan: connect each eligible order with one shelter cat.
Your necklace helps with meals, a vet visit, a new toy, or other care.
Adoption always happens through the rescue, on their terms.
One adoption-outcome message closes the journey. Then the timeline goes quiet.
The little things matter
Every cat has their own pace. We believe in care that makes room for it.

Space to explore, pounce, and play.

Simple routines and a nourishing meal.

A quiet moment, on their own terms.
Illustrative cat imagery created for Purrdopted.
After checkout
A name, a face, a little story. Our vision is to bring your matched cat’s profile and care updates together on one simple page.
One page, nothing noisy. Your cat, their care timeline and your order live together, with no social feed or points.
Real care updates. Meals, a vet checkup, brush-and-play days, shared by the rescue.
The profile stays close. Revisit your cat any time, and apply to adopt through the rescue if you fall in love.
The journey has an ending. A final update closes the timeline when your cat goes home.

Where your support goes
The idea is simple: help support the everyday care a shelter cat needs while they wait for a family.
What each cat receives depends on what they need most.

Good to know
Neither. It’s a one-time product purchase with shelter support included. It isn’t a charitable donation or a tax-deductible gift.
You can apply through the shelter’s own adoption process, and the shelter decides. Buying the necklace never reserves a cat or gives priority.
We’re preparing to work with cat shelters and rescues. Confirmed partner details will be shared before launch.

Our story · Every cat counts
Source: Shelter Animals Count · 2025 Annual Data Report
Every one of them was more than a number.
A number that large can be difficult to feel. So picture one cat. The twitch of an ear. A paw resting on a blanket. A face you would recognize anywhere once you knew it.
That is where Purrdopted begins: with the belief that a cat’s life deserves our attention long before there is a happy ending to share. We want the cat waiting for a home to matter as much as the cat who has already found one.
The national picture
National estimates: Shelter Animals Count. Daily average calculated as 277,000 ÷ 365, rounded; not a measured daily count.
Every adoption represents a new beginning. The scale of that work deserves recognition. So does the loss that remains.
The ASPCA describes shelters facing pressure from limited capacity, staffing and veterinary shortages, and animals needing more intensive care. Helping cats means supporting the people and organizations doing that work every day. [2]
Source: ASPCA, using Shelter Animals Count data. Bars share one scale. Return-to-field is not adoption; a transfer is not a final placement.
These are selected annual outcome estimates, not a complete breakdown of the 3 million community intakes. Animals may enter in one year and leave in another; transfers connect organizations and can precede a later outcome. The bars should not be added together as a count of unique cats. The euthanasia total does not establish the reason for each decision or include every non-live outcome.
Look a little closer
A cat who retreats when someone approaches may be frightened in an unfamiliar place. That moment alone cannot tell us how comfortable they are with people.
The ASPCA’s Feline Spectrum Assessment was developed to help shelters make that distinction. It can involve up to four sessions over three days, giving staff more than a single snapshot to work with. [3]
For us, that is a reason to stay curious. Ask the people who know the cat. Learn their habits. Give their story room to unfold.
Before the happy ending
Food. Rest. A place to retreat. The chance to feel safe. These are the everyday moments we want people to notice when they think about a cat’s journey.
Research offers a useful example. In a randomized study of 23 adult cats at one Dutch shelter, cats given hiding boxes reached a lower, stable behavioral stress score seven days earlier than the comparison group. The study found no improvement in adoption rates or length of stay. It shows a benefit to well-being, with clear limits to what one small study can tell us. [4]

Why Purrdopted
A name. A face. A little more of their story each time you return. That is the connection we want to build.
Our vision pairs a pawprint necklace with a cat’s profile and care updates, so the interest you feel today has somewhere to go tomorrow. A small keepsake can be a reminder to keep paying attention.

A place to start today
Ask a local shelter what would help most. The ASPCA encourages adoption, fostering and volunteering to support shelters and the animals in their care. [2]
If adoption fits your life, talk with shelter staff about a cat’s needs, personality and the home you can offer.
Ask about fostering: the time involved, supplies provided, and support available while a cat stays with you.
Offer your time. Ask which volunteer roles or requested supplies would be useful to the team caring for cats near you.
Start with one cat.
Let their story stay with you.
